Our FAQ section is designed to give you quick, clear answers to the most common questions about our services, processes, and how we can help you. Our standard billing procedure is to bill monthly based on our hourly rates. In some instances, mostly for write-up, we set a stable monthly fee after gaining an understanding of the work to be performed. This amount is adjusted occasionaly, normally yearly, based on various business factors such as number of transactions, complexity of issues, and time involved. We require payment upon receipt. All standard forms of payment are accepted including credit cards.
We are available during normal business hours, which are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Fridays. We are closed one hour for lunch daily from noon until 1:00 p.m.. We would be happy to make special arrangements for evening, weekend or lunch consultations if so requested.
We offer assistance in the following manners: (a) reviewing the return in question with you and helping you understand what to expect during the audit process. (b) Step (a) along with accompanying you to the audit and assisting you during the process to give guidance and answer questions that arise during the examination (c) obtaining a power of attorney from you and dealing with the IRS to the extent possible in your stead.
Also, it’s important to note that we have had IRS audits take place in the agent’s office at the Federal building and we have requested that the agent meet us at our office; we try to steer things a the direction towared the comfort zone of our clients to the extent possible. Our regular fees apply.
How much and what kind of preparation do you need for my return?
For corporate and partnership returns, we prefer that your materials be in a computer accounting program and summarized to the extent possible. We have taken materials in almost every imaginable form but please keep in mind that our hourly rates can better serve you through planning and preparation rather than organizing. Contact us with questions about specific software packages.
For individual returns, we have an organizer that you can fill out and bring in with your information, or we can fill it out during the process of preparing your tax return. Either way, we always strive to find effecient and effective ways to legally reduce your tax burden during the preparation.
